Makeover Diva

why the combo of marketing, branding & image consulting?

Again, the elements of my personality just came together in this process of building a business. I love marketing and creating something from scratch. I enjoy making over brands, and enhancing a marketing message to be more succinct and better speak to the product or service offered. Coupled with my passion for fashion and helping others create their own distinct personal image, it all came together.

what drives you?

I like a good challenge…always have! I also like seeing the end result as a tremendous improvement over what I started with. The powerful before and after. I love facilitating a transformation that makes my clients happy and proud to say what I created fits them perfectly.

where do you find inspiration?

I love color! Great design. Smart copy. Fantastic shoes. Designer handbags. Little things inspire me—the first buds of spring, the graceful flight of a hawk. Big things inspire me even more—standing in front of the ocean or atop an 11,000 foot mountain, and sharing time with people I love and admire.

describe your ideal client

Someone who recognizes the value of marketing, the impact of a strong brand image, and who is open to change. The best brand evolutions take place when an individual can look past where they’ve been to who they want to become, and take the necessary steps to get there.

Acquiring over 17 years marketing experience, from high tech to healthcare, rubber stamps to retail, attorneys to accessories, Lori is the perfect combination of strategy and creativity. Developing and implementing marketing initiatives, branding strategies, and targeted key messages really get her creative juices flowing. Her strong business acumen transcends industry—she sees the big picture and helps companies achieve their goals by combining strategic marketing with creative messaging and graphics to strengthen a company's brand.

a little more personal...

Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah (insert various jokes or Mormon questions here!), I'm a Mass Communications graduate from the University of Utah and have been in the Boston area for over five years. I miss the Utah mountains and fantastic skiing, and I’m still mystified at how you can drive north and south at the same time in New England, and how one road can have up to four different names! That aside, I love everything the area has to offer. I'd like to live closer to the ocean someday, as it's a mystery to this mountain girl.

why makeover diva?                        I realized that over the years, I was going into organizations and helping them assess their brand. As a result, my energy went into making over not only their brand, but their entire approach to marketing. A makeover starts with the foundation of what you bring to the table, and you work around those elements. It can be either a major overhaul, or simple improvements. As for the Diva part…it all just worked for me!

if you weren’t the makeover diva, what would you be?

I’d probably be a ski instructor back home in Utah, which truly does have The Greatest Snow on Earth! Or a full-time writer. I have several books I’d like to write (one in progress), but I spend more time writing marketing plans and branding strategies.
